About Immersion Room

Our Mission: Accessible Virtual Production.
Our Strategy: Innovation and Service.

We do end-to-end Virtual Production. Truly end-to-end. Our job starts with developing technology that does what it needs to do. It ends when filmmakers walk out our studio doors with footage. In the middle, our artists and technologists help storytellers tell their tales.

Immersion Room started in early 2020 (just before the pandemic) with the audacious idea that virtual production, or in-camera VFX with an LED volume, should be approachable to more industry professionals. More filmmakers should be able to make use of its advantages for production and more VFX artists should be able to apply their skills with it. To get there, we would need to change the technology itself.

Amidst a world in crisis, Immersion Room’s founders found an anchor in building a dream for the future of filmmaking. In 2022, we opened our first brick-and-mortar studio doors to productions in Toronto. In 2023, a studio we developed and supported opened in China, and our Toronto studio moved to a larger space at Downsview Park. In 2024, with a plethora of productions of various kinds under our belt, our new technologies came into consideration for a Science and Technology Oscar.

Today, our service team works with productions to bring their visions to life, using our filmmaker-first technologies. Meanwhile, our R&D team works on a technology roadmap born of the needs of those on-set professionals. Across the company, we are laser focused on delivering the most relevant solutions so more filmmakers get access to Virtual Production than ever before.
