Cars and Driving

Car Work on an LED Wall

For a lot of productions, virtual production is simply how driving scenes get made. Using green screen is possible, but gives the car no light to sit in, so the reflections have to be invented later.

In the volume, your actors and your car are immersed in the lighting of the scene, so neither the reflections nor the performance have to be imagined. And being in the studio means dialogue records clean and you can reset and go again in seconds.

Custom Driving Plates

Immersion Room can hit the road and film plates catered to your script and technical specifications. No more looping a short, imperfect clip.

Our custom rig films to the conditions you are writing for: the location, the time of day, and preferred weather conditions. The driving is treated as performance so turns, stops, and lane changes are also taken into consideration.

Because the team who shoots the plates also runs the volume, they are prepared for your camera and our wall from the moment they are filmed.

3D Driving Plates

A 3D plate is built to the specification you give us, which means the car can be anywhere: a coastal road in a season that has not arrived yet, a city street at the exact minute of dusk, or a place that does not exist at all.

It also covers the work that is genuinely unsafe or impractical to stage. Chases, crashes, and inclement weather all become straightforward when the road is rendered.
